In 2011, in order to maintain and develop the electrical energy industry based on renewable energy sources, a \u201cgreen\u201d tariff was introduced in Ukraine \u2013 an overrate for the e\/e purchase from solar and wind power stations.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

The tariff was supposed to be valid until 2030, but in 2019 a new law limiting payments under the \u201cgreen\u201d tariff came into force.<\/span><\/p>

The new law and amendments to it should create competitive conditions for all energy market players (individuals and legal entities). The law lowers the green tariff within 4 years (from 2020 to 2024) and introduces auctions for the electrical energy sale to the state from RES.<\/span><\/p>

In the 1st reading, the RES law was adopted as early as in 2018. In the 2nd reading, some amendments and details were introduced into it. Why are auctions being introduced?<\/b><\/h3>

The fixed tariffs are canceled, and the mechanisms of market competition determine the prices for the generated energy that are profitable for producers and acceptable for the Regulator.<\/span><\/p>

Who will participate?<\/b><\/h3>

A WPS with a capacity of more than 5 MW and a SPS with a capacity of more than 1 MW + bank guarantee (5 euros \/ 1 kW) + land ownership must be confirmed + contract with electrical grids.<\/span><\/p>

How often are the auctions held?<\/b><\/h3>

Twice a year (October \/ April).<\/span><\/p>

Where it will be held?<\/b><\/h3>

Electronic trading system ProZorro.<\/span><\/p>

How is the winner determined?<\/b><\/h3>

According to the lowest rate offered. The visibility of rates is closed until the announcement of the results.<\/span><\/p>

What does the auction winner get?<\/b><\/h3>

The producers who set the lowest price will receive a contract for the construction of a SPS for 2 years and a WPS for 3 years, respectively. In case of failure to meet the deadline, the producer loses his guarantee.<\/span><\/p>

Will there be a government support?<\/b><\/h3>

The amount of support will be set annually on December 1 by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (based on the annual indicators of energetics development in the green sector).<\/span><\/p>

The existing in Ukraine today system for supporting RES facilities will exist until 2030, unless new amendments are adopted.<\/span><\/p>
